The Mainstreet Community Board of Directors are made up of your neighbors. They are volunteers who are responsible for the governance of Mainstreet. The Board of Directors establishes policies and procedures and oversees our community. The Board also employs a property management company to implement its policies and procedures as well as to manage the day-to-day operations of Mainstreet.
Section 1. Number: The affairs of the Association shall be governed by a Board of Directors composed of five (5) persons, each of whom must be a resident-owner, member of the Association in good standing at all times during service as Director.
Section 2. Term: The term of each Director shall be two (2) years. Two (2) seats shall be filled at each regular election occurring in an odd-numbered year. Three (3) seats shall be filled at each regular election occurring in an even-numbered year. The regular election of Directors shall be held on the same day as the annual meeting of the members.

Mainstreet Community Board of Directors
RICK HARRIS was born in Atlanta, GA and attended Forrest Road Elementary School and David T. Howard High School in the city of Atlanta. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force and retired after 20 years of outstanding, honorable service. He also served in operation units in South East Asia, Europe and South America.
Rick speaks several languages including: Spanish (Puerto Rican, Panamanian, Venezuelan, and all Spanish-based dialects), French, Greek, Thai, and Vietnamese. While in the Air Force, he acquired a degree in Business and Criminology, and an MBA in Business. Rick retired from the US Postal Service after 24 years of a dedicated managerial career. In addition to his military and professional career, he has attended the University of Madrid (Spain), the Non-Commissioned Officers Academy, the University of Maryland, St. Leo University, Georgia Tech, Atlanta Area Tech, Central Michigan University, William Bolger Postal Academy, and a multitude of management and leadership seminars.
As an experienced leader, Rick has received top scholastic honors in high school, graduated from St. Leo cum laude for both disciplines - President of the Student Council in high school and Vice President of the Student government in college - and President of various church organizations. He has a broad and varied range of interests including: traveling, history, Theology, politics and international economics. Rick also continues to address high school graduates on opportunities available to them.
As a 26-year resident of Mainstreet, he previously served on the Board in 2006 and is the current Chair of the Architectural Review Board (ARB) Committee. Married to the former Carolyn Edwards of Atlanta, he is the father of three and has nine grandchildren. As President of the current Board of Directors, his focus for 2014 and beyond will be to increase and maintain property values in Mainstreet.

SHARON DICKEYis a native of Detroit, Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University, as well as a member of the National Honor Society. She moved, with her daughter and son, to Stone Mountain, GA in December of 1983. As a graphic designer, she has worked for the Detroit Free Press, the City of Detroit, and retired from Fulton County Government where she held the position of Sr. Graphic Designer. She has also taught illustration and graphic design courses at Macomb County Community College, in Michigan and the Art Institute of Atlanta.
Sharon has been the owner and resident of a townhouse in Parkside since 1991. She has been active on committees for the improvement of Parkside and Disney Court and the relationship between townhomes and rest of the community. You might have seen her columns in previous Mainstream issues under the byline Parkside/Disney Court. She created the motto, "Parkside/Disney Court is Mainstreet, Mainstreet is Us." Also, she was instrumental in the modifications of the Parkside/Disney Court Townhomes' By-Laws, and she has volunteered for numerous Mainstreet projects and events. As a member of the Board, her goals are to continue improvements to Mainstreet, to improve communications between the Board and homeowners, and to increase homeowner participation. In addition, Sharon hopes to help create a more positive attitude in every aspect of Mainstreet.

PATRICE DIAMONDhas been a resident of the Mainstreet community for many years and is also a past Board member. As Secretary of the Mainstreet Community Board of Directors, she will continue the vision started years ago. She respects the trust and confidence that homeowners showed by voting her on to the Board in 2009, 2010, and 2012. As a Board member, along with other loyal volunteers in the community, she will continue to work projects such as the Garden & Landscape Committee, Welcome Committee, Nimblechase Crime Watch Coordinator and Mainstreet Grants Committee.She brings to the Board a sincere and concerted effort to improve accountability, accessibility, trust and confidence. She will provide responsiveness to homeowners and conscientious, accessibility, trust and confidence. Patrice is a strong proponent of responsiveness to homeowners, straightforward and transparent stewardship over programs, and monies the community has entrusted to the Board. Her focus is on making tangible improvements in the quality of life for Mainstreet community now and in the future.

FRANKIE H. BRYSON has lived in the Mainstreet Community for 23 years. She moved here with her husband, Calvin Bryson, in June of 1990. That same year, she retired from AT& T Corporation after 24 years of service as a Customer Service Representative. Working mostly in Portland OR, she was transferred to Morrison, CO for approximately one year before being transferred to Tucker, GA. Frankie is a graduate of Seattle University, DeKalb Technical College and attended Clayton State University.
She is the mother of four children, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Most of them reside in the metro Atlanta area. As a member of Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain, GA, she serves as a member of the church’s Added Members Ministry. She enjoys gardening, jazz music, movies, cooking, baking and reading.

PHILLIP C. GRIFFITHwas born in Monroe, Georgia and is the youngest of five siblings. He attended Monroe Area High School and graduated in 1985. He completed his Undergraduate Degree from Shorter University in 2003 and a Masters Degree from Troy University in 2005.
In 1993, he moved to Mainstreet Community and owns properties here, in Fox Valley and in Laurel Plantation.
His interest in becoming a member of the Mainstreet Board of Directors is based on a desire to participate and learn about how our homeowners association operates, and how he can be of service to the community. He hopes to assist Mainstreet Community in continuing being a place where anyone would be proud to call home.
Mainstreet day-to-day operations is managed by the on-site staff, while CMA - Community Management Associates, Inc. is the management company hired by Mainstreet to handle financials.

NADINE RIVERS-JOHNSON, Community Association Manager, is an Atlanta transplant and has lived here since moving from Pittsburgh, PA by way of upstate New York, in 1978. A native of Pittsburgh, she has lived in the Stone Mountain area since 1985 and has been a homeowner in Mainstreet for the past 18 years. Nadine is a graduate of both Clark Atlanta University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications & English, and Atlanta Christian College, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services & Counseling. She is Chair of the DeKalb County Zoning Board of Appeals, Co-Chair of DeKalb County's CIP (Capitol Improvement Program) Advisory Group, Board of Commissioners Census Ambassador, Code Enforcement Steering Committee Member, and PRISM Representative. As the Editor-In-Chief of The Mainstream, she is also the Social Activities and Grant Committee Chair and Community Volunteer Liaison. A former real estate investor, she brings 18 years of property management, and marketing experience to the Mainstreet staff. She is the owner of a business development consulting firm and has over 20 years of human resources experience. Nadine is also the mother of two adult daughters, also Mainstreet residents.
VELVET LOYAL, Office Associate, is a native of Newark, NJ, currently living in Stone Mountain with her husband. Velvet has over 23 years of customer service experience with specific strengths in client relations and business organization. She is an avid Mainstreet volunteer, Co-Chair of the Social Activities Committee, and runs the very successful Mainstreet Concession Stand. Velvet has lived in Georgia for the last 11 years and has been a resident and homeowner in Mainstreet for the last seven years. Her wish for the community is continued growth and prosperity for all residents. Velvet also wants to encourage homeowners to support community activites, and feel free to contact her regarding any and all account issues.
MAINTENANCE STAFF - Charlie McCain is a native of North Carolina and a resident of the Stone Mountain for over 20 years. He is an experienced Special Projects Manager, maintenance supervisor, and a former real estate agent. Charlie also previously worked as a claims adjuster and appraiser. He is married and the father of two sons.
MAINTENANCE STAFF - Roberto Carlos is a graduate of Sena Technical School and has a background as an Industiral Maintenance Mechanic. He also has experience in property maintenance and electrical. R. Carlos is married with three daughters and a son and looking forward to providing continued excellent customer service to all Mainstreet homeowners and residents.
MAINTENANCE STAFF - Roberto Suarez was born in Magdalena, Columbia and his familial home is in Baranquilla, Columbia. He has been in the U.S. for over eight years and became a naturalized United States citizen in 2010. He has been a Mainstreet Community employee for the last six years. Roberto is married and is the proud father of four children; he also has six grandchildren.
Chester MCSA, Latest Staff Addition, was added in 2011 and provides transportation and work support to the Mainstreet maintenance team. Made in the United States, he is a stable and hard working employee whose sole goal is to continue being a part of Team Mainstreet.
